Debbie 'White Dove' Porreco is a direct descendant of Pocahontas  whose father was the chief of the Powhatan tribe in Virginia, narrates this epic journey and introduces television viewers to each tribe doing the trail.

A native American Indian, born on the Mattaponi Indian Reservation in Virginia, where her father was the Chief, Debbie was schooled on the reservation and graduated with honors from Chowan College in north Carolina.


Debbie has posed for a statue and was portrayed in a National Geographic documentary.  She has been riding horses since she was a child and her skills as a horsewoman, as well as her knowledge and connections to the Native American tribes is an invaluable asset to the trek.
